Tubby Wubby

I came across the photo while cleaning my laptop; it was too cute not to post.

Jeff's Educational Trip

Since I was dabbling with YouTube, I thought I would post this short film I made to celebrate my brother-in-law's tenure at the University of Florida. It got quite a few laughs. Jeff earned it...even if he is a Gator.

Inauguration Day

Today was Inauguration Day and it was pleasure to see Obama sworn-in. Though he faces tough times with little experience, let's hope he can use his resources and resilience to put the U.S. back on a path of glory. I helped organize an impromptu gathering for the American Club at the Wallace, a cozy bar on the quai de Saône. Several media organizations came and this clip was feature on France 3. You can see Anne-Laure and Theo waving Old Glory.

Theo on Skis

After returning from the States, we drove to the Alps to do our "French Christmas" for the weekend. We had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect. Since the sun was shining, we took the opportunity to put Theo skis. Though he was a little nervous at first, he actually did quite well as he was pulled around by every member of the family.

It was nice to catch up with Manu too before he returned to Shanghai. He, Anne-Laure and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday combing the slopes of the resort. The snow wasn't too bad and the mercury wasn't too low.

The evenings were spent around the table dining and debating. My mother-in-law is a wonderful cook and these meals were no exception (foie gras, truffled sausage, hmmm...).

Now I just need to go back!

Carolina Christmas

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted anything. Sorry about that. We were in the U.S. this Christmas and had great (but exhausting) time. My family was doing well and Theo shadowed his cousins the entire time. As we were beat when we left France, we mostly just hung out. Our friends Stéphane & Olga drove down from Virginia Tech and all of us went to Raleigh for Andrea Meyer's News Year's Eve party. The party was fun and Lucy, a 14-week old lab, was the star of the event. She licked, loved and lounged the entire evening.

The holidays weren't all full of happiness though. My grandmother isn't doing well and I'm afraid that she may not be around next Christmas. She is more frail each time I see her and is slowly fading way. Our friends Jeff and Dale Barfield had to place their newborn son Mack in the hospital for RSV. Fortunately, he is doing better as of this posting.

Finally, Happy Belated New Year! I wish all health and happiness for 2009.
